St Dalmas le Selvage 

 Situation : the high ” Tinée ” valley.

Altitude   : 1500 m

Population : 142 inhabitants

CULTURAL HERITAGE :

A typical mountain village with its parish church, its chapel Ste. Marguerite.

Traditional architecture : larch shingle roofs, cobbled streets, many sundials

The patron Saint of the church is : Saint Dalmas.

SPORTS FACILITIES :

Multi-sports ground, kindergarten, ski mountaineering and climbing of ice-falls in winter.

“ Rocher de Junic “ equipped for climbing ( any standards ).

HIKING :

GR5 to Bousieyas, Plateau de Sestrière, Col de la Braisse, Crêtes de la Blanche, Col d’Anelle, Vallon du Salso Moreno, lacs de Morgon, Col de Gialorgues, Lacs de Gialorgues. TOURIST APPEAL TOWARDS : « Route de la Bonette » - « route du Col de La Moutières » « Bousieyas » and « Le Pra » hamlets.

SPECIAL EVENTS :

Patronal Festival from August 19th to August 21st .

“ La Bonette “ race, on July 24th .

Pilgrimage to “Notre Dame du très Haut” (la Bonette) on July 23rd .

Book Festival on July 15th and 16th .

Snow-shoes race in Winter.

No hotels in the village.

Number of rural gîtes : 9 - including 3 “ Gîtes de France “.

Number of Bed & Breakfast : 14.

1 stage gîte open all the year round in the village and 1 open only in Summer in Bousieyas.

2 restaurants open all the year round in the village and 1 open only in Summer in “Le Pra”.
